Oliver MilmanToday on StartupSmart, we have a salutary warning from a business that didn’t think about SEO until after it launched.

Sabrina Kushnir launched Kush Diamonds with a strong focus on design and useability. But she didn’t spend enough time on working out how she’d get customers flocking to her online-based business.

Thankfully, Kushnir managed to turn the situation around. Today, she passes on her tips on how other start-ups should speak Google’s language.

Elsewhere, mentor Philip Hall explains what an investor means by being "hands off" and web strategist Adam Franklin passes on the three lessons that budding entrepreneurs should take from Tony Hsieh, who sold his start-up to Microsoft for $265 million.

Finally, you have less than a week to enter the 2012 StartupSmart Awards. If you haven't done so already, you can apply here.
