Tony Hsieh, serial entrepreneur whose revolutionary approach to building businesses has led him to be hailed a global guru, is our first workshop guest of 2012.
Described by Forbes Magazine as a business renegade Tony Hsieh (pronounced 'Shay') sold his first company, LinkExchange, to Microsoft for US$265 million at the age of 24. He then invested in, and moved to online retailer Zappos.com which he turned into a billion dollar worldwide success story.
Sold to Amazon for US$1.2 billion, Hsieh remains at the helm of Zappos bringing to life his philosophy that business success is based upon happiness. It's an innovative approach which has seen Zappos placed on the prestigious Fortune Magazine 'Best Companies To Work For' list, and named a J.D Power Customer Service Champion - one of only 40 companies in the US to attain this accolade.
His mission for Zappos? To develop a personal and emotional connection with every customer through each interaction. To achieve this Zappos places emphasis on company culture and the happiness of its people.
Considered to have influenced a cultural movement that's fast becoming a worldwide phenomenon, Hsieh's debut book Delivering Happiness follows his story from chasing profits, recognising money alone doesn't bring happiness to advocating a more fulfilling approach for himself, his employees and his customers based upon happiness. The premise is simple... the best businesses are those that combine profits, passion and purpose.
A thought leader and highly respected business innovator, Hsieh's meteoric rise to success has been likened to that of Steve Jobs.
This workshop is your chance to hear from a true guru of our time and ask questions of this influential leader at the helm of a fast growing global business.
