One of the bigger platforms for this is Facebook. And now, Facebook has a standalone app that allows you to keep in contact with your Facebook contacts on your desktop.
To install the program, head to this page in the Help Centre, then download the link available for Messenger for Windows. Once you’ve installed the app, you’re able to lock it to the side of your screen. There, you can see friends that are online, and chat with them.
You’ll also be able to see notifications, along with desktop notifications if you have the program minimised. |
