Turn Windows features on or off

By Patrick Stafford
Tuesday, 14 February 2012

Customising an OS is all about getting rid of what you don’t like. And there may be some features in Windows you don’t really care for.

You can turn some of these off, including media features, and even change your default browser.

To do so, head to the Control Panel. Then, click on the “Windows Updates” option. In the top-left hand corner, you should see an option to “turn windows features on or off”. Click it.

There, you’ll be given a list of different programs and options you can choose to have on or off. If you ever want to turn them back on, just head back here.
