Any start-up worth its salt will be keeping tabs on industry trends via Twitter and Facebook and networking with others on LinkedIn.

 

It will probably be reading online business publications – StartupSmart included, of course – and be closely connected to suppliers, customers and partners via a variety of channels.

But how can you ensure that you don’t suffer information overload in the modern start-up world? Today, business advisor Marc Peksett unveils his top five tips on how to filter through the invaluable information you need.

Social media was undoubtedly a friend to start-up retailer Lonely Kids Club, which utilised Facebook to battle a couple of industry big hitters it has accused of plagiarism. We speak to the business’ founder to get his story.
