Melanie Hobson is the co-founder of Cleaning Maid Easy, which helps busy people source cleaners who are not only reliable but are fairly employed and receive the right benefits.

 

“Our main target audience is busy executives and time-poor mums, mainly women, who would prefer to hand over the reins of cleaning and organising the household,” Hobson says.

 

Before Hobson set out to revolutionise the cleaning industry, she held various management roles, including managing a small retail store at the tender age of 16.

 

“I endeavoured to show professionalism at all times and stuck to my guns. I implemented policy, procedures and streamlined business processes,” she says.

 

“At 19, I managed a service department for a medical research company, managing five male engineers. At this point, I projected confidence and high self esteem.”

 

Perhaps it was her confidence that made Hobson’s employer, Jo Burston, invite Hobson to go into business with her. She now juggles her role at Cleaning Maid Easy with a fulltime job.

 

“I have to juggle a busy schedule between my day job – as an office manager at Job Capital and executive assistant to one of Australia’s top female entrepreneurs, Jo Burston – and find time to run Cleaning Maid Easy,” she says.

 

“My day-to-day life sees me wearing many hats and no two days are ever the same.”
