Need help with a name for my new business concept

Hi all (hope this is the right place to ask this question).

I have a business concept I am working on to fill a gap in a market that I believe exists.  

The concept is to provide to all Mums FREE of charge a goodie bag / sample bag of products promotional materials, trial samples, must have information and some pampering be distributed via Maternal Health Centres.  More specifically distributed to mums via the Maternal Health Nurse that visis the mum at home for the first visit or at the first centre visit for mum and baby.

There is a similar concept that exists called the Bounty Bag but this is distributed to mums in hopsital and only if the hospital participates....where as a greater proportion / if not all new mums, have dealings with a maternal health centre, if even only for the first visit.  This is my point of difference.  A definite distribution point australia wide.  I have already commenced discussions with the health centres (local councils)....


I am looking for a name for this bag.  I have a business name registered for an idea that I am also working on called Baby Profile...and I wanted to possibly use this name as part of this goodie bag name. 

OR come up with a name that somehow depicts that this bag is POST baby born, and not just a sample bag, but a bag of things for mum too (pampering items).  

I have also started to get interest from businesses to contribute - where they will pay a nominal amount per bag (?? still working on this) to assist cover the bags and allow for free giveaway.

Any name ideas greatly appreciated....and any thoughts on my business also appreciated...does it have legs??

You might also want to check out Baobag - this is a similar product for preggie mums that I have seen around. If you intend giving these away for free you will have to charge the participants - or how else will you make money?

Sounds like a great idea Amanda. The baby space really seems to be getting popular, not sure if you heard that Amazon bought out the owners of I think in the range of $500 million. You may want to look into how got their name out there in terms of marketing for your main business.

Now for names, you probably dont want to use the word "bag" as it doesnt sound appealing:
babypocket (as its a pocket of goodies, is available but not the .com)
babypouch (nice name but the and .com are already taken)
pouchofcare (both and .com are available)
carepocket ( is available but not the .com)

Thats I all can think of for now, being in online after thinking of a business name I naturally search to see if the domain name is available. It would probably be good to also have a little website up that shows whats in the bag of goodies so when your approaching prospective places to hand out the goodie bags you can direct them to the website so they can see whats in it and maybe the brand names that are affiliated with it.

Hi Sam, Thankyou. Relevance to mums will aim it to be like a care package of bits and pieces for baby (nappies, creams etc) and pamper items for mum (anything and evertthing inc a block of choc...i know i needed that at 6 days)...and distribuion, well I am hoping for an agreement for it to be via the maternal nurses as every mum has at least one visit. This 'definite' point of distribution should help to give advertissers assurance that their products they contribute will be going somewhere. thats the plan anyway...

Hi Amanda

A quick thought from me - the success of the business will be based firstly on relevance (to the mothers) and secondly on distribution (cost, targeting, delivery). I know this sounds broad, but if these two elements are at the centre of all decisions, it will have a good chance of taking off.

Regarding idea generation for business names - there is a great online business based in Melbourne that 'crowdsources' ideas from its community. I recommend checking it out if you want to really nail a business name that makes sense to a lot of people: - all you need to do is brief the community on your idea, and you get a heap of responses back the next day to choose from. Quite simple!
