10 must-have apps for mumpreneurs

As a mumpreneur, one of the keys to successfully juggling home and work life is to have a flexible and portable business.
While you may work mainly from your home office there will be times when you’ll need to work when you're out and about, from checking emails and calling clients to making changes to documents and recording ideas.
Thankfully, there are a number of mobile apps available to help make running a business on the go possible and the juggle a little easier.
So here are the top ten apps that have changed the way I do business and helped me streamline my life so I can have more time to spend with my little family.
Being able to access all of your accounts on the go is must for any mumpreneur. But if you're like me, you have so many different accounts and programs, with so many different passwords, that trying to remember them all can be somewhat of a challenge.
This is where 1Password is great because you only have to remember one password – the rest are secured within your app. Just make sure your master password is highly secure and that you remember it!
Not only do you want to be able to access all of your accounts on the go, you also want to be able to access all your files.
Dropbox gives you a safe and secure place ‘in the clouds’ to store your files and the ability to access your documents from anywhere.
With Dropbox you can have 2GB of storage space free, though you can also opt for one of their paid business plans if you need more.
It also gives you the ability to share files, which is just perfect for large files that can't be emailed or when you are working on a joint project with an alliance.
3. Dragon Dictation
This is one of my FAVOURITES! Transcribing your voice to text, Dragon Dictation can update your Facebook and Twitter statuses, send messages by SMS or email, record your brainstorming session, set reminders or even take down notes for you to use later.
No more scurrying through your bag for a pen or trying to type out long messages on your phone’s small keypad.
I don’t think I could live without Things. It is a great way to organise your tasks and projects and it easily syncs across all of your devices so you always have your to-do list with you!
With tagging and easy organisation you can arrange tasks by project or client while still seeing all tasks that are due today or coming up, so you’ll never miss a ‘thing’ again.
Expensify makes tracking your business expenses and producing expense reports easy. With the ability to sync your bank accounts and credit cards, log your mileage and even import cash receipts by taking a photo with your phone, you can easily track purchases as they happen.
This handy little app helps you keep text notes, audio, web pages, files and photos all in the one place for easy access.
With Evernote you can take meeting notes, keep important documents together, record research or access your favourite webpages, easily tagging and categorising them across all of your devices.
Skype is a must have for any mumpreneur. This free video conferencing app provides a great alternative to face-to-face meetings and makes it so easy to stay in touch with clients, suppliers and outsourced team members when you are away from the office.
Being free, it can also help you keep those sometimes crazy phone bills under control!
Quickoffice is by far the best mobile office suite there is. The premium version gives you the ability to create and edit Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint documents on the go from multiple cloud service providers including Dropbox and Google Docs.
9. LinkedIn/Twitter/Facebook or HootSuite
Social networking can be a powerful marketing strategy for your business and a great way to stay in touch with your customers and potential customers.
Having LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook or an app like HootSuite (which can manage all of them in the one app) on your phone gives you the ability to share updates and monitor conversations while you are away from your office.
10. Baby Connect
I don’t know what I would do without Baby Connect. This fantastic app allows you to keep track of feeds, nappy changes, sleeps, milestones, medicines, development and more.
You can even set yourself reminders to ensure you stay on track with your routine.
