As electronics retailer Kogan.com reports increased revenue and customer numbers, its mobile website has been labelled the best in Australia.

Technology agency Ansible ranked Kogan’s website number one for mobile usability and “driving desired actions” in its most recent MDEX report, reports Mumbrella

It came in ahead of the likes of Myer, Billabong and David Jones on a number of metrics for how easy it is for customers to engage with the site on mobile. The metrics include: mobile optimisation, discoverability, navigation and content, usability, and “driving desired actions”.

Chasing a bigger customer database is a key goal for Kogan.com, which reported half-year earnings of $7.3 million last week, exceeding its guidance of $6.9 million.

In its half-year results presentation, the company highlighted a focus on creating a sales platform that was “fully responsive” for devices.

The company is also using data analytics to tailor the online shopping experience, with its “personalisation engine” contributing to 5% of total website sales over the past six months.
