But how do you check?<\/p>\n<p>  <span id=\"more-547\"><\/span> <\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Virus Total is an online service that allows users to check downloads for viruses, using dozens of different tools. Even if you\u2019re downloading a document file, you should scan them <a target=\"_blank\" title=\"Virus Total\" href=\"http:\/\/www.virustotal.com\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">through here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Whenever you see something you need to download online, right click and hit \u201ccopy link address\u201d. Then, go to virustotal.com and paste the link in the \u201cSubmit URL\u201d tab.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p> The site will quickly release a report on the URL to see if it has been listed as a malicious site. If it comes back clean, your file should be safe to download.
