{"id":37688,"date":"2023-10-20T14:51:44","date_gmt":"2023-10-20T14:51:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/startupsmart.test\/2023\/10\/20\/done-in-sixty-seconds-app-takes-just-one-minute-to-create-integrated-mobile-shopfront-startupsmart\/"},"modified":"2023-10-20T14:51:44","modified_gmt":"2023-10-20T14:51:44","slug":"done-in-sixty-seconds-app-takes-just-one-minute-to-create-integrated-mobile-shopfront-startupsmart","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.startupsmart.com.au\/uncategorized\/done-in-sixty-seconds-app-takes-just-one-minute-to-create-integrated-mobile-shopfront-startupsmart\/","title":{"rendered":"Done in sixty seconds: App takes just one minute to create integrated mobile shopfront &#8211; StartupSmart"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"td-post-featured-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"445\" height=\"352\" itemprop=\"image\" class=\"entry-thumb\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/l_clock-445.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"l_clock-445\"\/><\/div>\n<p>\u201cIn a minute\u201d is an expression often used by teenagers to placate nagging parents, or by workers struggling to meet their boss\u2019s tight timeline.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>But Sixty is an app that is taking the expression very seriously indeed &#8211; the new startup wants to help small businesses create a mobile shopfront in just 60 seconds.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Vice president of marketing James Nguyen says his startup offers new companies an easier way to get online, and removes the need for them to hire a website or app designer.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>All a business needs to do is register, upload photos, write some accompanying text and pick one of the app\u2019s prefabricated themes, and then they\u2019ll be ready to sell their wares online.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The app also takes care of money, directing revenue to a PayPal or credit card account.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Users of Sixty can direct messages to their customers, and the app can also access mobile phone address books, sending friends and family an SMS inviting them check out the app.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Nguyen says his product is the only one-stop-shop for all these different services.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo one\u2019s done what we\u2019ve done all-in-one,\u201d he says.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The team behind Sixty are determined to improve the experience of buying and selling via mobile phone.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Nguyen says even though a lot of companies\u2019 websites are mobile responsive, developing a phone version of a legacy platform is a \u201cBand-Aid fix\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhether they like it or not, that\u2019s where the traffic is, that\u2019s where a lot of e-commerce sales happen,\u201d Nguyen says.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re building it from the ground up on mobile.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The app is the brainchild of founder Matt Snowden who Nguyen says was inspired to create Sixty amid growing frustration at the inconsistency of mobile websites.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe wanted to find a plumber or a mechanic, he would jump on his phone, but he was finding was it really difficult to locate the information he needed,\u201d he says.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>By setting up stores that function similarly to one another, Nguyen says the best ideas will win over the market, not the company with the most cash to spend on their website and app.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>He\u2019s confident that market is hungry for Sixty, explaining the team tested their prototype extensively to ensure it would be welcomed by users.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat\u2019s 100% essential and, for us, a philosophy to always carry forward,\u201d he says.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><i>Do you know more on this story or have a tip of your own?
