Cheng receives a supported trip to Silicon Valley.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Sabre Autonomous Solutions, a grit-blasting robot, also took out two prizes: the Tech23 Greatest Potential Award and a trip to London by winning the London &amp; Partners Discover Tech City Award.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Conference founder and coordinator Rachel Slattery told the crowd she was excited about the greater national representation at the Sydney event this year.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere was also more of a national feel than in past years with half of the Tech23 coming from outside NSW and many attendees visiting from interstate,\u201d Slattery said.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s great to see so many exciting technologies that can bring real impact to productivity but also new technologies that can really benefit the lives of people.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The event was sponsored by a range of groups, including government body NSW Trade &amp; Investment, which awarded two MVP Grants worth $15,000 each to Sabre Autonomous Solutions and experiential education start-up Intersective.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>TV direct purchasing tech start-up BuyReply won the People\u2019s Choice award, and $5,000 from PayPal.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"technology\/food-system-set-for-a-shake-up-as-online-start-up-launches-to-localise-it\/2013062510047.html\">Food Orbit<\/a> won a $5,000 cash prize from the REA Group, and a $1,000 Visa gift card from BrainTree.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>SimplyShow.me, a secure video sharing platform, won $2,500 cash from AMP Amplify Festival.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>There were over 20 other prizes from mentoring and education opportunities awarded on the night.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>After an intense day of pitching and panels, the winners of the Tech23 start-up conference were announced last night. \u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":61440,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[1],"tags":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.startupsmart.com.au\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/39065"}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.startupsmart.com.au\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.startupsmart.com.au\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.startupsmart.com.au\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/2"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.startupsmart.com.au\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=39065"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/www.startupsmart.com.au\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/39065\/revisions"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.startupsmart.com.au\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/61440"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.startupsmart.com.au\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=39065"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.startupsmart.com.au\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=39065"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.startupsmart.com.au\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=39065"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
