Founders need to think about their business model first and foremost and not get caught up with \u201cinnovator\u2019s bias\u201d, according to the author of Running Lean<\/i>.<\/p>\n

Ash Maurya, whose book is aimed at educating entrepreneurs about the lean startup method, told StartupSmart<\/i> he often travels around the world speaking to entrepreneurs and one thing always catches his eye.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
In fact, it\u2019s something even he is guilty of.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
\u201cThe biggest mistake I find which we all make \u2013 myself included \u2013 is this love for the solution,\u201d he says.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s what I call an innovator\u2019s bias. So if it\u2019s one thing I could tell people to do, it would be shifting the perception of what the product is from the thing we\u2019re building to the business model we\u2019re building.\u201d<\/p>\n
