How many people should be involved in a recruitment interview?<\/b><\/p>\n

I run my business by myself but would want someone else\u2019s input into my potential new hires. Is it a good idea to get advisors\/mentors in the room for the interviews or should I just rely on my own judgement?<\/b><\/p>\n

You run your business yourself and you have a clear idea what type of person will assist you to deliver your goals.<\/p>\n

They have to be able to work with you. So choose them!<\/p>\n

Perhaps you need a second opinion, but after all what you are doing is seeking someone to reinforce your biases.<\/p>\n

I say trust your gut.<\/p>\n

Gut feel is actually an underrated skill.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

In his book Blink<\/i>, Malcolm Gladwell defines it as \u201cthinking that moves a little faster and operates a little more mysteriously than the kind of deliberate, conscious decision-making.\u201d<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

He calls it \u201crapid cognition\u201d and it means we are taking all our experiences and weighing up a situation and quickly coming to a conclusion.<\/p>\n
