Dr Catriona Wallace, the founder of $24 million fintech startup Flamingo, is calling on more female entrepreneurs and tech developers to consider opportunities in fintech.<\/p>\n
Wallace says it\u2019s becoming evidently clear that more female-founded companies will add great value to not only the startup sector but Australia\u2019s broader economy.<\/p>\n
\u201cWomen-led startups are outperforming their male counterparts in the financial returns they\u2019re getting for investors,\u201d she tells StartupSmart.<\/em><\/p>\n \u201cBecause women founders are typically more conservative on how we spend money, we tend to run our business very leanly and very effectively.<\/p>\n \u201cAnd this is staring to show in the financial performance of the companies that we\u2019re leading.\u201d<\/p>\n
