{"id":45860,"date":"2023-10-20T15:46:50","date_gmt":"2023-10-20T15:46:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/startupsmart.test\/2023\/10\/20\/sound-conversion-rates-apple-says-more-than-half-of-those-trying-its-music-streaming-become-paying-customers-startupsmart\/"},"modified":"2023-10-20T15:46:50","modified_gmt":"2023-10-20T15:46:50","slug":"sound-conversion-rates-apple-says-more-than-half-of-those-trying-its-music-streaming-become-paying-customers-startupsmart","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.startupsmart.com.au\/uncategorized\/sound-conversion-rates-apple-says-more-than-half-of-those-trying-its-music-streaming-become-paying-customers-startupsmart\/","title":{"rendered":"Sound conversion rates: Apple says more than half of those trying its music streaming become paying customers &#8211; StartupSmart"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"td-post-featured-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"445\" height=\"352\" itemprop=\"image\" class=\"entry-thumb\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/l_timcook-445.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"l_timcook-445\"><\/div>\n<p>With the first wave of free trials coming to an end at the start of this month, Tim Cook has revealed that more than half of those that tried Apple Music have signed on as paying subscribers.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Speaking at the <i>Wall Street Journal<\/i> Digital Live conference, Cook said Apple Music now has 6.5 million paying users and 8.5 million on the three-month free trial, as 9 to 5 Mac reports.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The music streaming platform launched three and a half months ago, and Cook recently said that 11 million people had tried out a free trial.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s still a long way behind Spotify, which boasts 20 million paying users, but they\u2019re pretty impressive figures for a streaming service in its infancy.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Just like with its launch, Cook focused on the music curation aspect of Apple Music, saying that it was doing wonders for him.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cToo much of today\u2019s music is about 20 different artists or some very small number,\u201d Cook said. \u201cThe guy that\u2019s singing out on the street isn\u2019t being discovered anymore.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m finding personally that I am discovering a whole lot more music than I was before.
