Half of kids under six have tooth decay, and most of the bigger dental diseases are preventable.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The product is in its first iteration and 200 dentists across Australia are using it.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>But getting the dental profession to adopt the technology may well be the biggest issue for DentalHub.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere is a bit of resistance from the medical community, they\u2019re busy and don\u2019t like change and they\u2019re into the traditions that make their jobs work,\u201d Lin says.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo one has shown successful ways of doing this differently yet, or even identifying the problems technology could help us overcome.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The focus for the next six months is entirely on promoting the platform and boosting user numbers.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Lin adds there will also be an element of public education around the benefits of ehealth initiatives.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ve been talking about it since the 90s and now we\u2019re really ready to get going.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>According to research group IBIS World, the dental industry generates more than $9 billion in revenue each year and employs over 55,000 people.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>DentalHub, an online platform for dentist to patient communication and community education, has launched in Sydney in a bid to<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":58551,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[1],"tags":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.startupsmart.com.au\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/47428"}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.startupsmart.com.au\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.startupsmart.com.au\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.startupsmart.com.au\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/1"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.startupsmart.com.au\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=47428"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/www.startupsmart.com.au\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/47428\/revisions"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.startupsmart.com.au\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/58551"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.startupsmart.com.au\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=47428"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.startupsmart.com.au\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=47428"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.startupsmart.com.au\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=47428"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
